VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
Honour a loved one or friend in the new Shelter Belt

There are many opportunities for volunteers to contribute to the heritage and beauty of The Farm, as well as to gain valuable skills and experiences. Here is a list of volunteer teams:

  • Garden teams - care and maintenance of Macoun and perennial gardens;
  • Rose teams - care and maintenance of Rose Garden and Explorer Rose Garden;
  • Arboretum Team - care and maintenance of shrubs and trees throughout the Arboretum;
  • Shelter Belt Team - maintenance of the trees and shrubs in the FCEF Shelter Belt area (corner Baseline and Merivale Roads);
  • Bloom Time Records -recording of the "bloom times" of various trees and shrubs located throughout the Arboretum;
  • Hosta team - care and maintenance of Hosta Garden;
  • Lilac team - care and maintenance of lilacs throughout The Farm;
  • Peony team - care and maintenance of peonies at the Farm;
  • Iris & Daylily team - care and maintenance of iris and daylily beds at the Gardens;
  • Office support - reception, word processing, data base, special events;
  • Promotional team - special events, selling memberships, books, etc.;
  • Communications team - newsletter, web site, media relations;
  • Board of Directors - decision-making for the Friends of the Farm.
