WHERE: Meet at Building 72 in the Arboretum at the Central Experimental Farm, east of the Prince of Wales roundabout

  • While eastern North America has seen widespread introduction of trees and shrubs from Europe and Asia, trees from western North America have generally been uncommonly cultivated here with the notable exception of Blue Spruce.

  • This tour will include stops at and discussions of a variety of uncommonly encountered trees from western North America present at the Arboretum such as Ponderosa Pine, Rocky Mountain Douglas Fir, Western Larch, and Western Red-Cedar and how these trees fit ecologically into their home landscapes. Tour leader: Owen Clarkin

  • Although the tours are free and open to the public, please register in advance.
