Building 72
Central Experimental Farm

WHEN: Sunday, May 7, 2023. This is a past event.

Please note: Our registration policy has changed. Registration is for one individual only. Each attendee must be registered separately.

Reminder: Given the challenges of COVID-19, masks are optional but all attendees are asked to try to maintain physical distance with other attendees, except members of the same household, or wear a mask if that is not possible.

WHERE: Meet at Building 72 in the Arboretum at the Central Experimental Farm, east of the Prince of Wales roundabout.

WHAT: The tour will focus on showy tree flowers like the magnolias, but there is much to be learned about all trees in bloom. Some trees are male, some female, but most are both. Climate change is also affecting the flowering and leafing-out timing of trees. The temperature, amount of sunlight, and the life cycles of other flora and fauna all affect tree flowering. Come and enjoy the colour as you learn about the trees.

Attendance is limited to 40 to enable physical distancing.

Tour leader: Zoe Panchen

Register: Although the tours are free and open to the public, advance registration is necessary. Please note that free parking at the Arboretum and Farm is becoming more limited. Paid parking is available at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Museum, a short walk from the Arboretum.

COST: Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted during the tour.

INFO: please send an email to: info@friendsofthefarm.ca with questions or any issues with registration.
