Friends of the Central Experimental Farm

About Us

The Friends of the Central Experimental Farm is dedicated to fostering public enjoyment and appreciation of Ottawa’s Central Experimental Farm and its value as a National Historic Site.  The Friends maintains and enhances the Dominion Arboretum, the Ornamental Gardens, and the Merivale Shelterbelt, in partnership with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and raises public awareness and knowledge about the Farm’s history and its tree and plant collections.

National Historic Site

In 1998 the entire Central Experimental Farm was declared a National Historic Site, a place ‘of profound importance to Canada.' These sites 'bear witness to this nation's defining moments.'

Please note that our physical address is different from our mailing address. We are located on the south side of the NCC Scenic Driveway, west of the Prince of Wales roundabout. Our building #75 is between the Museum (dairy barn) and the Ornamental Gardens.

Our office hours are Mon., Tue., Wed., Thu., 9:30am-2:30pm
