The Friends of the Farm is looking to fill two Board vacancies

 

Title: Director, Membership and Donations

Major responsibilities: Developing and implementing strategies to grow membership and donations, as well as plans to encourage membership retention. The role includes working with the Membership Coordinator, who maintains accurate files for all membership and donations information.

Qualifications/Skills: Strong communication skills and effective interpersonal talent in working with a team of volunteers as well as liaising with the public. Excellent organizational skills.

Assets: Experience in membership growth and retention. Experience in managing and expanding donations

 

Title: Director, Events

Major responsibilities: The Director will oversee the coordinators of each event and offers suggestions and assistance when needed. Makes arrangements for the Annual General Meeting. Shows initiative and suggests potential future events/fundraisers.

Qualifications/Skills: Strong communication skills and effective interpersonal talent in working with a team of volunteers as well as liaising with the public. Excellent organizational skills.

Assets: Previous event planning experience is an asset,

 

For both positions:
A knowledge of Google Apps, particularly Sheets, Docs and Gmail (training available).
These are Board positions. The Board meets one a month during the day.

You will be working with a team of volunteers who wish to help preserve, maintain and enhance the Dominion Arboretum, the Ornamental Gardens and other public areas of the Farm, in partnership with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, for the educational benefit and enjoyment of the public; and promote the Farm’s historical significance.
