Do you enjoy planning events and working with a good worksheet? Are you newly or semi-retired and looking to make a difference in your community while continuing to grow your leadership skills? Consider joining the Friends of the Central Experimental Farm as our volunteer Director of Events and help support one of Ottawa’s most cherished landmarks. We’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support event coordinators, providing guidance as needed

• Schedule dates and coordinate logistics for all events, including the Annual General Meeting

• Work collaboratively and effectively with volunteers

• Show initiative by suggesting, developing, and exploring future event opportunities

Qualifications:

• Event planning experience

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Friendly and professional demeanor

• Experience with Google Workspace is an asset

• Comfortable working with a team of volunteers

Commitment:

This is a volunteer Board position. The Board meets once a month (on the third Wednesday) during the day for approximately two hours. Additional time may be required to support and assist event coordinators as needed.
